Knowledge Graph Gap Analysis
Find the original insight in the gaps.
A method for finding what is missing in a knowledge base by visualising it as a graph and identifying structural holes, dense clusters of related ideas that are not connected to each other. Bridging a structural hole tends to produce original, non-generic insight, because the territory between two developed clusters is by definition under-explored.
The technique
Ingest a body of knowledge, cluster it, identify where two dense clusters sit close but unconnected, then deliberately bridge the gap. For a content programme this is a way to manufacture non-commodity ideas systematically rather than waiting for inspiration, the gaps are where the original thinking lives.
